Using Odin, allows users to add many sorts of functions to your Samsung Android device by flashing Custom Recovery or Stock Recovery apart from flashing the complete stock firmware or custom firmware. Generally, Samsung Galaxy devices come with a stock recovery mode that allows a few options to reboot, wipe data, etc. But if you need to flash a custom firmware or install root access or any mod file, then you will require a custom recovery like TWRP. You will need to unlock the device boot loader at first, in order to install a custom recovery. A custom recovery allows full data or system backup & restore advanced factory reset, option to install flashable ZIPs or image files. Moreover, you will simply don’t find any stock recovery. Android is known for its customization due to the stock firmware and stock recovery.

Latest Supported Samsung Devices

Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra

Samsung Galaxy S20+ 5G

Samsung Galaxy Xcover FieldPro

Samsung Galaxy M31

Samsung Galaxy S20 5G

Samsung Galaxy S20

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip

Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 5G

Samsung Galaxy Xcover Pro

Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra 5G

Samsung Galaxy Note10 Lite

Samsung Galaxy S10 Lite

Samsung Galaxy A01

Samsung Galaxy A71

Samsung Galaxy A51

Samsung Galaxy S20+

Prerequisites

Required Windows PC.

A Samsung Device with 60% - 80% Battery percentage to perform the flashing process.

Download Samsung stock firmware.

Download Odin latest updates.

Download Samsung USB drivers.

Enable USB Debugging on your Android device. Reboot the phone when the cache gets brushed away. Then, your device will automatically reboot without any trouble.

That's it! That's how you can flash stock recovery (TWRP) with Odin. As you can see the procedure it's quite difficult. So, be patient and careful while doing the process. Otherwise, you'll end up with a much bigger problem on your device.

What is the ODIN Flash Tool?

Odin is a tool for flashing stock firmware files (.tar or.tar.md5) on Android-based Samsung devices, and it works on any PC running Windows 10, 8.1, 8, 7, or XP. It's a Windows-based firmware flashing tool created by Samsung for their Android-based smartphones and tablets. What's more intriguing is that Samsung employs this technology both internally and in service centers. Furthermore, you may use this tool to install both official and unofficial firmware without causing any issues or triggering Knox security. This implies that the warranty on your gadget will not be void.

Note:

Odin was updated in January of 2016, and it is the most recent version. It corrects the flashing mistake on the Galaxy S7/S7e USA model (AT&T, T-mobile) and is compatible with new 2016 models such as the Galaxy S7, S7 Edge, Note 6, and Note 7. Odin v3.13.3 or higher is required for newer models such as the Galaxy Note 10/S10/S20 Series.
Auto Reboot: Odin's Auto Reboot option is supported by default. If you're going to flash the stock firmware, keep it that way. However, since most Samsung devices have bootloader encryption, you'll need to disable "Auto Reboot" before flashing TWRP or any custom recovery.

Nand Erase: If you choose this choice in Odin, everything on your Samsung computer will be erased, including the operating system and all files. You'll end up turning your computer into an expensive paperweight if you don't know what to do after performing a 'Nand Erase.'

Re-Partition: Just check this box if you're flashing a Samsung PIT file alongside the firmware. When you enable ‘Re-Partition,' your Samsung computer will be re-partitioned to its default state. If you don't know what partitioning is, don't use this option.

F Reset Time: Choose this option only if you want to reset your device's firmware flashing timer.

BP: This stands for Bootloader, and as the name implies, it's used to flash bootloader files with the.tar or.tar.md5 extension.

AP: This option was known as PDA in older versions of Odin and was used to flash single-file firmware, recovery, and CF-Root files. AP stands for ‘Android Processor' in its full form.

CP: This stands for 'Core Processor,' and it's used to flash the Modem file included in the Samsung firmware binaries kit. In previous versions of Odin, this alternative was referred to as phone.

CSC: This stands for ‘Consumer Software Customization' or ‘Country Specific Code' in its full form. Samsung firmware has a CSC component that is unique to network providers and geographical regions. In other words, it includes customizations such as geographic location, APN settings, carrier branding, and more. Find out more about the Samsung CSC and the Home CSC.

PIT: This stands for Partition Information Table, and it includes data such as system storage partition tables, partition names, block sizes, block counts, and other technical information. A different PIT file is associated with each unit. PIT files can only be flashed if the partition table configuration on the computer has been compromised for some reason.

Hello, Please my phone, a Samsung J600F is stuck on Download mode. I tried to update the phone using the official software update from Samsung, there was an error and it was automatically booted to download mode. Even when I restart it, it still boots to the Download mode. And when I connect it to Odin, it is not recognised. I have tried all the fixes, yet no solution to the problem.

Hello, I am trying to root my s7 (not edge). I am using Odin 3.14. I am using the correct cfar.rar file for 8.0.0. I made sure to get the Samsung Usb drivers. Despite all of this, I keep getting a message that says that SHA256 is invalid, and that I get a message that the root failed. How do I fix this?
